The 1970-76 Trans Am Shaker hood is a functional hood design introduced on the second-generation Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Its name comes from the ?Shaker? scoop a fiberglass or plastic air intake scoop that protrudes through an opening in the hood and is mounted directly to the engine's air cleaner assembly, rather than to the hood itself.
