Each Pinpoint grain vinyl convertible top (with glass rear window) is produced with polyester bow sleeves, rather than cotton, for superior strength and longer lifespan. Seams are highly improved upon by utilizing polyester thread. Heat sealed lap seams offer an original appearance while exceeding OEM specifications. Careful attention is given to the heat-seal process to ensure the Pinpoint grain pattern remains intact during the heat sealing process. Premium vinyl and materials are utilized throughout, and patterns are cut in the USA with computerized accuracy.
This top kit features a folding, hinged, clear tempered glass rear window in place of the original style plastic rear window that came on the vehicle from the factory. Glass rear windows were engineered by the aftermarket as an upgrade to the sometimes troublesome originals. Some builders prefer the glass window because the original plastic rear windows were often prone to scratching, turning hazy or cloudy, becoming brittle or yellowed, and in extreme cases, even cracking or disintegrating over time due to heat and exposure to the elements.
Glass windows are comprised of two pieces of tempered glass, with a silicone hinge that runs horizontally through the center of the glass, allowing it to fold in half during stowage. The glass window will be approximately three inches shorter vertically than the OE-Style plastic rear windows.
