Instructions:
- Open the trunk and remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it free from the mounting channel; use a flat-head screwdriver or trim tool to pry up any stubborn sections.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the TS 126 SA seal around the trunk opening to confirm orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife or scissors if needed, leaving a small overlap for corners.
- If the replacement requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s directions; apply only where needed.
- Press the seal firmly into the channel, starting at one corner and working around the trunk; ensure the mounting flange seats fully and the bulb compresses evenly against the lid.
- Use small pieces of masking tape to hold the seal in place while any adhesive cures (typically 15–30 minutes depending on adhesive).
- Close the trunk gently to confirm proper fit and compression; adjust or trim as necessary for uniform contact and leak-free sealing.
- Allow full adhesive cure time before heavy use (follow adhesive instructions). Recheck after 24 hours and readjust if minor settling occurs.
