This 11" bellhousing clutch housing and flywheel inspection cover is designed for 1964–1981 GM cars and trucks. It provides a secure, sealed access point for inspecting the clutch and flywheel without removing the transmission, helping protect internal components from dirt, moisture and damage. Built from heavy-gauge steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, the cover offers durable, reliable performance and an OEM-style fit. Its bolt-on design makes replacement quick and straightforward — ideal for restoration, routine maintenance, or repairing a worn or missing plate.
Features:
- Fits 1964–1981 GM cars & trucks with 11" bellhousing.
- For use with Chevrolet 621 or similar 11" bellhousings. Not for use on GM truck 11" bellhousings.

- Seals the clutch housing to help prevent contamination, moisture intrusion, and debris damage.
- Bolt-on, OEM-style fit for easy replacement during restoration or routine service.
- Durable design resists warping and impact — perfect for classic GM drivetrain restoration.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. For safety, disconnect the negative battery cable if you'll be rotating the engine or working near electrical components.
- Safely raise and support the vehicle with jack stands or use a lift to access the bellhousing area.
- Remove the existing inspection cover or damaged plate by loosening and removing the mounting bolts. Retain bolts if reusing; discard corroded hardware.
- Thoroughly clean the bellhousing mating surface. Remove old gasket material and sealant using a scraper and solvent, and dry the surface.
- Apply a thin, continuous bead of high-temp RTV sealant to the mating surface or install a new gasket per product recommendations.
- Position the new inspection cover on the bellhousing and align all bolt holes.
- Install bolts and snug by hand, then tighten in a crisscross/star pattern to seat the cover evenly. Torque bolts to the vehicle manufacturer's specification; if unknown, tighten evenly to approximately 10–20 ft·lb.
- With the starter disabled or the battery disconnected, carefully rotate the engine by hand a few revolutions to confirm there is no interference between the cover and the flywheel/clutch assembly.
- Lower the vehicle, reconnect the battery if disconnected, and perform a functional check of the clutch operation. Re-torque bolts after a short test drive if desired.
