Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands; remove front wheels if needed for access.
- Apply penetrating oil to nuts and studs at the pitman arm, idler arm, and tie rod connections; allow time to soak.
- Loosen and remove the fasteners securing the tie rod ends and pitman/idler arm connections to the center link. Use a tie rod separator or pitman arm puller if joints are stuck.
- Support the pitman/idler arms as needed and remove the center link from the vehicle.
- Compare the new center link to the old part to ensure correct orientation and fitment.
- Install the new center link, seating ball/socket ends onto the pitman/idler and tie rod studs. Hand-start nuts to hold parts in place.
- Tighten nuts to manufacturer-specified torque values (refer to vehicle service manual), and secure any cotter pins or retaining hardware as required.
- Lower the vehicle, reinstall wheels if removed, and torque wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
