Front inner tie rod end (right/left hand) for 1991–2011 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Saturn vehicles. This OEM-style replacement secures the inner steering linkage to the rack or center link, allowing smooth, precise steering input while maintaining proper alignment. Built from heat-treated steel with a corrosion-resistant finish and a durable ball stud and boot assembly, it restores steering feel, reduces play, and prevents premature wear to steering components. Ideal for restoration, maintenance, or repair of worn or damaged steering systems, this part improves safety, drivability, and tire wear.
Features:
- Fitment: Direct-fit front inner tie rod end for 1991–2011 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Saturn models (right or left hand applications).
- Constructed from heat-treated steel with a corrosion-resistant coating for long service life.
- Precision-machined ball stud and tapered seat for accurate steering response and reduced play.
- Protective rubber boot seals out contaminants and retains grease to extend component life.
- Direct-replacement design for easy installation and restoration of proper steering geometry.
- Helps prevent uneven tire wear and improves vehicle handling and safety.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45 minutes - 1.5 hours per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure it on jack stands; remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod end where it connects to the rack or center link and apply penetrating oil to fasteners if needed.
- Mark the position of the outer tie rod relative to the tie rod sleeve (or measure the length) to preserve alignment during replacement.
- Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut or retaining fastener at the outer tie rod (if applicable), then separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and unthread the outer tie rod from the inner to free the assembly.
- Unbolt or unfasten the inner tie rod end from the rack or center link—retain any washers or spacers for reassembly.
- Install the new inner tie rod end in the same orientation; hand-thread fasteners, then torque to factory specification.
- Reassemble the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod to the previously measured length/position and tighten the jam nut to secure.
- Reconnect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle, install castle nut and cotter pin (if used), and torque to specification.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to the manufacturer's spec.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
