Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands, then remove the front wheel to access the sway bar link.
- Apply penetrating oil to the link’s mounting nuts if they appear corroded; allow time to penetrate.
- Hold the sway bar link stud and remove the nut that secures the link to the sway bar using the appropriate socket or wrench.
- Remove the nut and any mounting hardware attaching the link to the control arm or strut; retain hardware if reusing or discard if replacing.
- Remove the old sway bar link from both mounting points. Compare the new link to the old one to ensure correct length and orientation.
- Install the new sway bar link into position, hand-thread the mounting nuts onto both ends to hold it in place.
- Tighten nuts to the manufacturer-recommended torque specification using a torque wrench. Note: tighten with the suspension at normal ride height if specified by vehicle manufacturer.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle from jack stands, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Test drive at low speed to verify proper handling and re-check mounting nut torque after initial road use.
