A direct-fit right-hand roof rail weatherstrip designed to seal the roof rail channel, prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and protect interior trim. Made from durable EPDM-style rubber with an OEM-style profile, this seal restores proper closure between the roof and rail for classic vehicles. Fits right-hand roof rail applications for select 1968 models—verify fitment for your make and model before ordering. Ideal for restoration and routine replacement to maintain vehicle weatherproofing and cabin quietness.
Features:
- Fits right-hand roof rail applications on select 1968 vehicles (verify make/model fitment).
- Durable EPDM-style rubber resists weathering, UV and temperature extremes.
- Profile engineered to restore OEM sealing performance against water and wind noise.
- Simple push-in design for secure retention in roof rail channels.
- Ideal replacement for restoration projects or to refresh a leaking or brittle original seal.
- Helps protect interior trim and reduce corrosion by keeping moisture out.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out the existing seal using a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver, working along the roof rail to avoid damaging paint or trim.
- Clean the channel: wipe the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable cleaner to remove dirt, adhesive residue and old sealant; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal: align the new right-hand weatherstrip along the rail to confirm length and profile; trim any excess with a utility knife if needed.
- Apply adhesive if required: if the sealant or vehicle design calls for adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of recommended weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or seal base per adhesive instructions.
- Install the seal: starting at one end, press the weatherstrip into the channel, working along the rail and ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully; use a rubber mallet gently if needed to seat the seal.
- Secure and finish: use masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures (if used). Trim any overhang and clean up excess adhesive following product directions.
- Cure and inspect: allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations, then check for continuous contact along the rail and test for leaks with a light spray of water. Re-adjust if any gaps are found.
