Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent sparks.
- Drain fuel from the old tank into an approved container and relieve any system pressure.
- Raise and securely support the vehicle with jack stands or use a lift.
- Spray mounting bolts and fuel fittings with penetrating oil to ease removal.
- Support the tank with a jack or suitable support, then remove tank straps or mounting hardware.
- Disconnect fuel lines, vapor lines, filler neck, and electrical connections to the fuel sending unit.
- Lower and remove the old tank; inspect lines, straps, and fittings for wear and replace if needed.
- Transfer the sending unit and any necessary fittings to the new galvanized tank, using a new gasket or sealant as required.
- Install the included filler neck and check for proper alignment and seal at the neck-to-body connection.
- Raise the new tank into position, secure with straps/mounting hardware, and torque fasteners to spec.
- Reconnect fuel lines, vapor lines, and electrical connectors; double-check all clamps and fittings for tightness.
- Refill with a small amount of fuel, reconnect the battery, start the engine and inspect for leaks; lower the vehicle and perform a final road check.
