The Gas Door Emblem – “Z28” (Red) – 1980-1981 Camaro restores late-second-gen attitude in minutes. Trim Parts begins with an original GM sample, recreating the badge in precision zinc die-cast so every edge stays razor-sharp. A copper-nickel foundation is triple-chrome-plated for mirror depth, then the face is hand-filled with vivid red enamel and charcoal shadowing unique to ’80-’81 Z28 fuel doors. Studs align with the factory gas-door holes on every coupe, and OE-style barrel nuts come in the box—slide the studs through, tighten, and your Camaro once again flaunts its performance pedigree. Triple-plated chrome shrugs off pitting, fuel splash, and UV fade, while exact tab length keeps the emblem flush so the door opens cleanly without paint rub. Perfect for concours restorations, survivor refreshes, or a quick curb-appeal boost.

Auto Metal Direct is a team of true car guys with years of experience in sheet metal reproduction, car restoration and paint/body work. We believe that quality is not subjective! Our mission is to provide the best customer experience for the Ford, Mopar and GM classic car markets - both in products and in service.
Our panels are made from proper gauge steel and include all correct-as-original clips, tabs, flanges, bends and seams. Each time a prototype body panel comes off of a new tooling, we test fit it on a car. The marked up prototype is then used to change and improve the tools, and a new prototype is produced. This procedure might be repeated multiple times but, once the part is finally approved, you can be assured of a quality part.
