Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle: remove trunk contents, spare tire, trunk mat, and any trim or braces over the area.
- Assess and remove the old floor section: cut out rusted metal or drill out spot welds as required. Clean surrounding metal to sound base material.
- Test fit the new panel in place; verify alignment with trunk seams, inner wheelhouses, and factory locating points. Trim or notch as needed for a precise fit.
- Clamp the panel in position and tack-weld at several points to hold fitment. Re-check alignment and gaps before completing welds.
- Complete welds: stitch or plug weld along factory seams and perimeter to avoid warping. Use short welds with cooling intervals if necessary.
- Grind welds smooth where needed, dress edges, and apply seam sealer to all joints and penetrations to prevent moisture intrusion.
- Prime and paint or undercoat the repaired area to protect against corrosion; allow proper cure time before reinstalling trunk components.
- Reinstall trunk components, spare tire, mat, and any removed trim. Inspect final fit and finish; touch up as necessary.
