Each pad is used to insulate the contact area between the leaf spring and the mounting plate, preventing metal to metal contact that can cause noise, vibration, and premature wear. These pads help maintain proper suspension function, improve ride quality, and extend the life of the leaf spring assembly. Vehicles equipped with leaf springs require two upper pads and two lower pads per vehicle.
