Right-hand full inner rocker panel assembly for 1967-1969 Camaro and Firebird coupes. This welded-in replacement section restores the rocker’s inner structure, providing a solid mounting point for the outer rocker, floor pan and door sills while sealing the lower body from road moisture and debris. Manufactured from heavy-gauge steel and formed to factory contours, it restores structural rigidity, prevents further corrosion, and aligns door and sill fitment for a correct factory appearance. Pre-formed for a direct-fit installation, it’s ideal for restoration projects and rust repair work where durability and reliability are required.
Features:
  • Fits 1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird coupes — right-hand (passenger side) full inner rocker panel assembly.
  • Made from heavy-gauge steel and formed to factory contours for accurate fit and strength.
  • Pre-primed/corrosion-resistant surface to help prevent flash rust and speed up finishing.
  • Replaces rusted or damaged inner rocker to restore structural rigidity and proper door/sill alignment.
  • Weld-in design provides a permanent, durable repair vs. patching; ideal for full restorations.
  • Pre-shaped to reduce trimming and fitting time — designed for direct-fit installation.
  • Helps prevent water intrusion, road debris damage, and future rust development.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • Estimated time: 3-5 hours (typical, depending on rust extent and skill level)
Suggested Tools:
  • MIG or TIG welder
  • Angle grinder with cutoff wheel
  • Spot-weld cutter or drill
  • Clamps and welding magnets
  • Hammer and body dolly
  • Wire brush or grinder wheel
  • Reciprocating saw (optional)
  • Measuring tape and marker
  • Seam sealer
  • Primer and paint
  • Jack stands and floor jack
  • Personal protective equipment (gloves, welding helmet, eye protection)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the vehicle: disconnect battery, raise and support the car on jack stands, remove trim, threshold plates, and any components that obstruct access to the rocker area.
  2. Expose the damaged area by removing the outer rocker skin (if still present) and cutting away rusted inner rocker metal. Use a spot-weld cutter or drill to remove factory spot welds, then cut out the affected section cleanly.
  3. Clean and prep the adjoining metal: grind back to clean, solid metal, remove rust, and apply rust inhibitor or etching primer to bare surfaces to prevent flash rust.
  4. Trial-fit the new inner rocker assembly: position the replacement panel into place and verify alignment with the floor pan, door sill, and outer rocker. Trim minor high spots as needed for a flush fit.
  5. Clamp and tack-weld: secure the panel with clamps or welding magnets, then tack weld at multiple points to hold alignment. Re-check gaps and door operation before proceeding.
  6. Final welds: stitch or plug weld along the seam at recommended intervals to minimize heat distortion. Allow the panel to cool gradually and avoid warping; use backing clamps or dolly as needed.
  7. Grind welds and finish seams: smooth welds with a grinder, feather edges, and ensure proper contour for the outer rocker or trim.
  8. Seal and protect: apply seam sealer to all welded joints and seams, then prime and topcoat the repaired area with appropriate corrosion-resistant primer and paint.
  9. Reassemble: reinstall outer rocker skin (if applicable), interior trim, threshold plates, and any removed components. Lower the vehicle and perform a final inspection of fit and finish.
  10. Post-install check: verify door alignment and operation, and touch up any exposed metal or seam areas to ensure long-term protection.
