Inner left-hand tie rod end designed for 1975–1981 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac vehicles. This steering component replaces worn or damaged inner tie rod ends to restore precise steering response, reduce play, and improve safety. Built from high-strength materials with corrosion-resistant finishes, it provides reliable connection between the steering rack and outer tie rod, helping to maintain proper alignment and tire wear. Ideal for restoration projects and routine suspension maintenance, this part delivers durability and straightforward installation for common classic American cars from the late 1970s to early 1980s.
Features:
  • Fits 1975-1981 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac models (inner left-hand tie rod end).
  • High-strength construction for long-lasting steering performance and safety.
  • Corrosion-resistant finish to withstand road exposure and extend service life.
  • Restores steering precision, reduces play, and helps prevent uneven tire wear.
  • Direct-replacement part for restoration and routine suspension repairs.
  • Designed for straightforward installation with common hand tools.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands or lift
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrenches / sockets (appropriate sizes)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Tape measure or alignment gauge
  • Penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands; remove the front wheel on the side being serviced.
  3. Inspect the existing tie rod assembly and spray penetrating oil on fasteners if corroded.
  4. Loosen the jam nut securing the inner tie rod to the outer tie rod but do not remove it yet.
  5. Disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or pickle fork; remove cotter pin and nut as applicable.
  6. Unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner until the measured position (thread count) is noted to help maintain alignment, or measure toe settings before removal.
  7. Use appropriate tools to remove the inner tie rod from the steering rack — some applications require unscrewing from the rack housing; consult vehicle repair manual for any retaining clips.
  8. Install the new inner left-hand tie rod by threading it into the steering rack to the same engagement depth as the removed part or per service manual specifications; tighten to the specified torque.
  9. Reattach the outer tie rod and tighten the jam nut to secure the adjustment. Ensure the measured toe setting is close to original.
  10. Reconnect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle, install new cotter pin if applicable, and torque the nut to manufacturer specification.
  11. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
  12. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
