Instructions:
- Carefully remove interior and exterior trim pieces that retain the old weatherstrip to access the roof rail channel.
- Peel out the old weatherstrip and remove any remaining adhesive and debris using adhesive remover or brake cleaner; wipe clean with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free rag.
- Dry-fit the new right-hand weatherstrip along the roof rail to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary for an exact fit.
- Apply a thin, even bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the channel, aligning the profile so it seats fully against the roof rail. Use masking tape or spring clamps to hold the seal in place where needed.
- Heat the seal lightly with a heat gun or hair dryer (low setting) if the rubber is stiff to improve conformity around curves.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean rag and solvent, following adhesive cure time recommendations.
- Reinstall any trim or retainers removed earlier, checking that trim seats correctly against the new weatherstrip and that doors and windows close without interference.
- Allow the adhesive to fully cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before exposing the vehicle to water or extended use.
