Camaro owner's high school first love rekindled

By Claudio D'Andrea

A father whose first car in high school, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS, sat unattended since 2010,

came back to life following a restoration that was chronicled on Hagerty Drivers Club .

The YouTube video of the restoration explains the car sat "took a back seat" when the owner,

Mike, started a family.

"Over the years, it has become just another shelf in the garage to store boxes."

Show hosts John Brito and Dustin Hallinan guide the viewers through the process in their 45-

minute 'Driveway Finds" video.

Among the surprising finds in the restoration was a four-lug tire that was in the trunk. It sent the

team off to find another tire that they could put on the car.

After some work on the engine and smoothing out some rough spots, the pair set off on a

"perfectly successful first drive" despite a stuck throttle.

They went on to clean and detail the car and restore it to is former high school days' glory.

When Mike got back into the car with his kids in the back, the effect was overwhelming.

"Oh Jesus," he said.

"Did it bring memories?" he was asked.

"It did. It did."
