Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes (per vehicle side; full kit 1–2 hours)
Instructions:
- Confirm fitment for your vehicle and lay out left/right pieces to verify orientation.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding: use a trim tool to disengage clips and fasteners without damaging paint or glass.
- Clean the mounting flange and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol to remove adhesive residue, dirt, and wax; allow to dry.
- If the kit uses new clips, install clips onto the new molding per their positions; replace any damaged clips or fasteners.
- Test-fit the new molding in position to confirm alignment and trim length; mark end points with masking tape if needed.
- Starting at one end, engage the molding into the window channel and press firmly to seat clips or fasteners; work along the length to avoid gaps.
- Secure any screws or retained fasteners per vehicle requirements and trim any excess material if specified by the vehicle service instructions.
- Inspect the installed molding for uniform gaps and proper seating against the door/window; cycle the window (if applicable) to verify smooth operation.
- Clean the installed trim with a mild cleaner and inspect for any remaining debris; allow any adhesive or sealant to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving.
